In Search of The Heart of Gold...Supermom Season4

Supermom Reality TV Show Celebrates Mothers with a Heart of Gold in Season IV
Popular emotive reality TV show ‘The Supermom’ calls for entries to its season IV show tagged ‘Heart of Gold Edition.’ Individuals who have benefited from the humanitarian works of Orphanages, Motherless Babies Homes, Hospices or Private Homes are encouraged to send in their stories.
20 unique, outstanding and touching stories will be drawn from across the country for the main show.
The Supermom Reality TV Show which debuted in 2010 to widespread acceptance and huge followership on Nigerian Television is in its fourth season and still enjoying sponsorship from Procter & Gamble, makers of Nigeria’s leading household detergent Ariel and Promasidor makers of Onga seasoning.
Organisers of the show, Digital Interactive Media, Nigeria’s content powerhouse say ‘The Supermom Reality TV Show- Heart of Gold Edition’ which has been scheduled to start broadcast during the third quarter of the year July-October 2013 across Nigeria on syndicated channels will cause a paradigm shift.
Last season tagged ‘The Celebrity Edition’ saw Mrs Gladys Asuquo the mother of ace music producer Cohbams Asuquo take home the star prize of N2million while Fuji star Obesere’s mother Mrs. Omobonike Anike went home with N1million as first runner-up, the 2nd runner-up cash prize of N500,000 went to Mrs. Martinez Sanni the mother of pop star Skales. The winners made cash donations to orphanages of their choice respectively.
The theme of this year’s show ‘Heart of Gold’ is crested on the awareness that, but for the sheer sacrifice, love, devotion, care, attention, faith, belief, hope, inspiration and sometimes aspiration that women who dedicate their lives to nurturing displaced children, the society would have had more than its own fair share of social miscreants.
To them we owe some degree of the peace we experience. Their sacrifice of love is the gentle breeze that fans and soothes away worries, the ray of hope that springs up, the sacred assurance that calms troubled hearts, the light at the end of the tunnel, lightening up the hitherto disadvantage circumstances of the little feet, toddlers, children and young adults whose responsibility circumstances have made their business.
We cannot even begin to mention the beautiful colours of the rainbow that they paint the world of displaced or orphanage children with through their selfless actions.
Hence, these mothers are essentially the unsung heroes of our time and should have their names crafted in gold on the sands of time.
The Supermom Reality TV Show- Heart of Gold Edition not only seeks to celebrate mothers with a heart of gold, mothers who stopped at nothing to give meaning to the lives of children who are in no way biologically related to them, but to also preach the message of love and care from well meaning Nigerians to children who have now made their homes in Orphanages, Motherless Babies, Hospices or Private Homes.

Exclusive; Jimi Solanke Re-Opens Tales By Moonlight

The Nigerian prolific storyteller, poet, dramatist, playwright and folk singer Olujinmi Adesoye Solanke popular known as Jimi Solanke once again faired his proficiency in storytelling in the house of the Next Movie Star 2012. It isn’t just about the story he tells but the uncompromising engagement his listeners engulf themselves while listening to his stories.
He visited the Next Movie Star Housemates while they were in the show as guest celebrity to give them a take-home counsel about the industry and the profession. He further gave them an eye opener on how to survive and horn their passion for success despite the challenges they may face. He also taught them some stage drama performance and guided them on taking themselves into the play.
The most interesting part was when he sat them down in the night under an orchestrated tree shade for the tales by moonlight to tell them his folk story of the wicked woman who lost her children to food poisoning out of jealousy. He climaxed the story with the usual folk-song and that what exactly what is it for the night.
Tales By Moonlight is Back…I guess we meant the spirit!

Live Happy

I woke up this morning thinking about how best to make my day a success and stress free one. I came to a conclusion that just keeping a smiling face will do. I have actually put together my To-Do list and I am good to go for the day. One amazing thing is that just because people see you smile, they reciprocate the smile with laughter (though that doesn't happen all the time).
I wouldn't wanna bore you with unnecessary talks but just to share with you the amazing things you can do to have a fulfilled day.
1. Say your prayers. Most importantly pray for those you love and you shall receive manifold of blessings from so doing.
2. Set your agenda for the day. It should be understood that it's only when you fail to plan, apparently you are planning to fail. So you need to set your to-do list in order of importance so that you can account for the effort put in place in achieving things for the day.
3. Be positive. The only way to success is when you see optimistic result in challenges before it is conspicuous. It simply means that you should believe that none of your efforts put to task wouldn't yield. You are an achiever but only if you see yourself so.
4. Eat well. Hey Pal! You need to put something in that tummy of yours. Watch what you eat though but you need to eat what you want at least. Eating well gives light to the brains and its functionabilities.
5. Smile...smile...smile!!!

I do not wanna talk so much but all I know is you can define your success. Stay blessed and have a wonderful day.

Cheers Pal!

Skales wishes he could do more

The prize presentation for the second runner up of the Supermom 2012 celebrity edition- Skales mother (Mrs. Matina Sanni) took place on the 26thof March 2013 at the Nigerian Red Cross Orphanage Home at No, 2 Makoko Road, Adekunle Yaba.
In attendance were Skales himself, his mother-Mrs. Matina Sanni, Mrs Nweke Ijeoma-the brand secretary for Nigeria Red Cross Orphanage Home Lagos, Mrs.Chuekwe Gloria-Admin. Officer of the home, Bigmo (Skales cousin) Charles (Skales Manager) Awal and Bukky, both from Digital Interactive Media-the organiser of the Supermom Reality Show.

The presentation started at 12:40 with Awal’s brief of what the supermom is all about and the celebrity edition; how we take it upon us to celebrate mothers across the country who love, care and make sacrifices for their children. And the last edition, on which we celebrated the supermoms that raised our celebrities and ensure that a part of their cash prize is being donated to any orphanage home of their choice.
Mrs Nweke Ijeoma the brand secretary appreciated everyone present and gave a speech about the orphanage home. She started by saying “the home shelters the motherless babies, the abandoned children, children displaced as a result of war, and humanitarian children. Nigeria Red Cross Orphanage Home had more than 22 children, we run a nursery and primary school and they solely lived on donations. Children can be adopted but the process has to start and end at the ministry of youth and development affairs in Alausa, Ikeja”.
After her speech she took everyone round the orphanage home to see the facilities and structures.
This was followed by the prize presentation proper. Where Awal presented the cheque of 500,000 to Mrs. Matina Sanni and they in return presented a cheque of 100,000 and other items to the orphanage home. Skales mother thanked both the organiser and the sponsor of the programme and so also did Mrs Nweke.
Skales on his own part said “ I thanked the sponsors of Supermom, the organisers and the orphanage home, I am less prepared for this visit but since my birthday is nearby I promise to come over to the orphanage home and celebrate my birthday with the children”.
After the presentation, there was a photo session and by 1:27pm the programme was rounded up.

PK1 of Music, Abbass Obesere's Mum shares Her Reward With SOS Village

The Supermom Season 3 prize presentation for the 1st runner up- Abass Akande Obesere’s mother took place at the Societal Socialite Home popularly known as SOS Children Village at Isolo on the 4th of April, 2013.
The presentation programme started with a speech from Mr Awal Olasunkanmi-Project Manager for Digital Interactive Media; on what Supermom was all about and the purpose of our visit . He further said “Supermom season 3 Celebrity edition was done to bring together the celebrities mother, where we then pick out the first three mothers who sacrificed the most, of which Alh. Abass Akande Obesere’s mother emerged second. And as a true mother she has purpose to give part of what she won to the motherless baby as a token of our contribution to humanity”.
Present at the occasion was Mr Abraham Folarin-The National Family Base Coordinator and Mr Benjamin Ibrahim- the Director of the Village. Mr Benjamin appreciated our visit to the village and said several words of prayer for Obesere, his mother and the children in the village as well.
Abass in responds to the Mr Benjamin said he had nothing much to say than to thank Mr Benjamin for the good gesture he has to accommodate the children. He capped it up by praying that just as he is taking care of the children, God will take care of him, his biological children and everything that pertains to him.
Mr Awal, the Project manager for Digital Interactive Media; the organiser of the SuperMom show asked the director what kind of children do they accommodate in the village.
This question led to an extensive brief of what SOS Children village does and what they represent. Mr Benjamin started by saying “ we accommodate and take care of children that are not privileged to have their parent take care of them, children who have lost their mother and father and have no family members to take responsibility for them; they are the most in the village. Some of the children are the ones whose parents have diseases that will undoubtedly lead to death; such children are being referred to us. And with the help of people like you, we send them to school and some of them go for apprenticeship.
He continued by saying” children are being referred from different part of the country-be it Igbo, Hausa, Ibadan, Abeokuta. At the moment we have children from 19 state of the federation. According to the founder of the village; he does not believe that a child who is not privileged to grow up under his/her parent should go to an orphanage home, so what SOS Children Village does is to build a home for them through fostering. We find a mother for the children; the mother takes care of the children till they can be able to stand on their own. And this is what makes us different from the orphanage homes around.
Also SOS runs a family strengthening programme where we look at our society in search of parent who cannot adequately take care of their children either by not sending them to school or they can’t afford hospital bills for their ill children. So we help by paying the children school fees, buy school uniforms and books for them.
This programme is being done in 7 locality of the country
1. Sasha in Ibadan- 200 children
2. Ishaga in Lagos- 200 children
3. Ejigbo in Lagos- 340 children
4. Kaduna -200 children
5. Gwagwalada in Abuja- 200 children
6. Jos - 200 children
7. Owu-Ijebu in Ogun -200 children
In conclusion he said, SOS was set up to help children and youth who are not priviledged to grow-up under their parent.
Mrs Anike Omobonike- Abass’s mother prayed for the director that God will lift him up and reward him.
After the brief, the director took everyone round the SOS children village; there he mentioned that the children sometimes are being given scholarships. Also that SOS has family houses that accommodate the mother and the children like a family setting unlike the dormitory thing we have in the orphanage homes. This was followed by the presentation of the cheque.
Mr Awal, on behalf of the sponsors- Procter and Gamble, Promasidor presented the cheque of 1,000,000 naira to Mrs Omobonike Anike
Alh. Abass Akande Obesere, Paramount King of Music, on behalf of his mother and his family shows his gratitude to the organisers and sponsors and in return he and his mother presented a cheque of 250,000naira to the SOS Children Village.
In appreciation, SOS gave the present of a “diary” to Mrs Anike Omobonike for being an extraordinary and outstanding mother. And that the gift should serve as a remembrance for her to always pray for the children all over Nigeria. And that they should be as successful as her son Alh. Abass Akande Obesere.
To wrap up the presentation, Soji Omotayo asked the paramount king of music what he has done before or on his way to stardom that nobody knows about.
He answered “when I was in primary school, I used to carry carton of beer on my head for people in a shopping centre. I learnt printing press, electronics and boxing. Also since I was 15 years I have been hustling for my mother, taking care of her and I told her not to work again. Thank God today, the rest is history now. God was able to shows me that music was my path and aside that music runs in the family.
The presentation ended by 1:55pm.

Stella Dimoko has started again!!!

After reading the latest lie from Stella Dimoko, one can only conclude that the blogger is on a poorly orchestrated vendetta against Mercy Aigbe-Gentry, a successful actress, wife and mother. It is also easy to deduce from the incoherent and watery 'report' that Ms Dimoko has no idea what journalism or blogging is all about because the story comes across as fiction from a puerile, retrogressive and unproductive mind.
Stella fictitiously and wickedly averred in her report that Mr. Lanre Gentry, husband of frontline Yoruba actress, Mercy Aigbe pummelled her after finding her in a night gown inside a hotel room. This is nothing but a figment of Stella’s myopic and infantile imagination. While not joining issues with a blogger who knows zilch about the tenets of journalism considering her antecedents, we would summarise what happened yesterday for the sake of clarity and Mrs Gentry's legion of discerning fans.
Indeed, Mercy was hosted by indigenous television station on Startimes, Odua Mounmarowan, on Sunday evening. She came to the event with her friends, younger sister and Faith Irabor, a journalist in her car. However, Mr. Gentry came in from his hotel in Oregun, Lagos. The event was well-attended by movie and media personalities. Immediately after the event, Mercy went to the changing room allotted to her in company with her husband and Faith Irabor. On getting to the car park, however, Mercy’s car didn’t start; so she joined her husband with her friends and left for Oregun.
In all of these, one can’t get where Stella got her concocted report from. Mr Gentry left the venue happy as the event was successful and without hiccups.
As at the time the couple left, the musician specially invited to perform, Sunny Melody was still performing.
We are therefore confused as to where Ms Dimoko got her story from? The moon, perhaps. Why does Ms Dimoko keep publishing lies all in the name of journalism? Is she not happy that a younger woman, Mercy, has a flourishing career as an actor and producer and also enjoys domestic felicity? Ms Dimoko, these are things God can do for you too if you stopped destroying homes and people.
Having said these, we challenge Ms Dimoko to furnish the public with evidence of Gentry’s anger and battery, or Mercy leaving in a nightgown. We strongly believe that those who mean well for journalism should not watch people like this blogger drag the noble profession through the mud.
God help us al
